Graham O’Sullivan has established a busy practice both prosecuting and defending in the Crown Court.

He is a Level 3 Prosecutor and, since 2015, has been briefed in a variety of high profile cases for the CPS CCU (complex casework unit). Having started his practice based in Newcastle, Graham moved to York in 2013, allowing him to develop what is now a circuit-wide practice.

Junior in prosecution of defendants for conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine in a case linked to the Operation Sanctuary in Newcastle Crown Court.

Prosecution of 3-week trial in Newcastle Crown Court of 3 defendants who had defrauded 4 elderly and vulnerable victims of close to £500,000 employing a Ponzi scheme having set up a sham investment company in Dubai.

Prosecution of high profile and high value benefit fraud in case attracting national press attention in Teesside Crown Court.

Prosecution of aggravated burglary and s.18 offence in Newcastle Crown Court. Issues as to application of hearsay provisions for witnesses in fear and further complex issues in relation to joint enterprise principles.

Led by Paul Greaney KC for defence in attempted murder trial in Carlisle Crown Court, a case attracting local and some national media attention following Attorney General’s decision to refer sentence to the Court of Appeal.

Instructed as disclosure counsel by CPS in high profile prosecution of care-worker and nurse at Southern Cross care home in Newcastle Crown Court. Dealt with important disclosure issues arising from police investigation into unexplained deaths at the home.

Defence of man in 3-week long appeal against conviction for statutory nuisance under the Environmental Act 1990. Case involved significant issues in relation to both expert evidence and costs.

Experienced in representing individuals prosecuted by Environment Agency.

Experienced in representing individuals prosecuted by and the Foods Standards Agency.

Experienced in conduct of forfeiture and condemnation proceedings on behalf of the Home Office (formerly UK Border Agency).

Experienced in wide range of cases in the County Court including personal injury, road traffic accidents, claims in relation to the supply of goods and services.
