Paul Greaney QC acted together with Dario Giovannelli of the Football Association in the proceedings brought against Nicolas Anelka in respect of his use of the quenelle gesture in a Premier League Match on the 28th December 2013. The Player was represented by Pushpinder Saini QC and Tom Mountford of Blackstone Chambers. The allegations were found proved, with the result that Nicolas Anelka was banned for five games, fined £80,000 and made the subject of a programme of education.
