New Park Court Chambers announces death of Chief Executive Officer Michael Meeson

02/10/2014

The Joint Heads of New Park Court Chambers announced today that Michael Meeson its Chief Executive Officer has died after a long battle with cancer.

“Michael was a fearless, dedicated and passionate Chief Executive who brought a fresh, modern and forward looking perspective to Chambers”, said Robert Smith QC.

Alistair MacDonald QC added, “He was a true gentleman whose unfailing courtesy and humanity will be sadly missed, not only in Leeds and Newcastle, but also in London where he served so many so well. He fought his illness with great fortitude and his example of quiet courage and stoicism in the face of serious illness was an inspiration to his many friends.”

Michael Meeson joined New Park Court Chambers in May 2011. A qualified barrister, he began his career with the Civil Service. Subsequently he took a management position with Lloyds of London before joining La Boeuf, Lamb, Green and McCrae in New York. On his return to the UK in 1998 he became Partnership Secretary with Rowe and Maw before joining 39 Essex Street as Chambers Director in 2000, where he spent 11 years.
