New Park Court is again recommended as a Top Tier Set in Legal 500


New Park Court is delighted to announce that we are highly recommended as a top tier set across all of our key practice areas in the forthcoming edition of the Legal 500.

As 11 members of Chambers are recommended for Crime, we have cemented our status as being “among the leading sets on circuit for crime”. Our team has “expertise in homicide, fraud and serious sexual offence cases, among other areas”.

Our increase in the number in Regulatory, Health & Safety and Licensing cases over the past year has been noted in the overview of our set. Our Health and Safety practitioners have prosecution and defence experience, and are “recommended for inquests linked to HSE investigations”. Members also “act for the Police Federation and local authorities, and a number of individuals are regularly instructed to attend fitness to practice GMC hearings”.

  • Simon Phillips QC – His practice includes representing the GMC at professional disciplinary hearings involving doctors.”

For Construction, Planning and Environment, we are “recommended for environmental law”. Simon Phillips QC is “an environmental specialist with experience in fisheries quota cases”.

Our Civil team is noted to maintain “a solid personal injury and clinical negligence practice” We are highly recommended across our key areas of Employment, Commercial, Public Law and Personal Injury. In Employment, we are “respected for its broad employment expertise in areas such as redundancy and discrimination. Practitioners also mediate, where appropriate.”

Recommended are:

  • Simon Anderson – “A ferocious cross-examiner.”
  • Steven White – “A go-to counsel for advocacy in the employment tribunal.”

For Commercial, Banking and Insolvency, “A number of New Park Court Chambers’ practitioners have commercial, insolvency and Chancery expertise in cases involving contractual disputes, sale of goods, corporate and personal insolvency, and contested probate”. We are also “recommended for ADR.”

Our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team are “particularly well regarded for its expertise in injuries arising in the mining industry”. Our senior members of the team are recommended for their “experience in clinical negligence cases, particularly relating to treatment at or just after birth, and misdiagnosis of cancer” Simon Anderson is noted as a “well-regarded industrial disease specialist.”

Four members of our Family Team have also been recommended for Family and Children Law. We are noted for our “expertise in public law children cases, international relocation work, financial remedy disputes and the Hague Convention”. “A number of practitioners also specialise in cases involving trusts of land and applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act.”
