Simon Phillips QC and Jamie Adams at Newcastle Crown Court

27/10/2014

Simon Phillips QC leading Jamie Adams represented Christopher Carr at Newcastle Crown Court on 20th October. Mr Carr had attacked his friend James Ineson with weapons including a knife and a pressure cooker lid before strangling him in front of police officers. Simon Phillips was at Newcastle Crown Court whilst Jamie Adams was present with Mr Carr by video-link from Rampton Hospital when Carr was arraigned and when he was sentenced. Mr Carr was charged with murder, however his plea to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility was accepted by the prosecution. He was sentenced to a hospital order with restriction.

Simon Phillips and Jamie Adams were instructed by Claire French of Quality Solicitors Brennans.
