Simon Phillips QC represented the Crown in the prosecution of Claire Johnson and Daniel Kedge in a gross negligence manslaughter case that concluded on 9 March 2015. Sentencing Johnson for the unlawful killing of her daughter Natasha, and Kedge for supplying the heroin from which she overdosed, Mr Justice Globe issued a commendation to the officer in the case, for the attention of the Chief Constable, for his work in what the Judge described as “a sensitive and legally difficult investigation”.
