James Gelsthorpe secures knife-wound acquittal at Bradford Crown Court

On 26 August James Gelsthorpe, instructed by Tubbs & Co Solicitors, Scarborough, secured the acquittal of his client who was alleged to have stabbed his partner during a domestic argument. At the close of the Crown’s case Mr Gelsthorpe successfully argued that the more serious charge of wounding with intent should be dismissed due to a lack of evidence and the jury should be left to consider the offence of unlawful wounding only. After 2 hours of deliberation the jury returned a verdict of not guilty on the remaining charge.
