Paul Greaney QC prosecutes youngest ever terrorism defendant

01/10/2015

Over the course of the last two days, Paul Greaney QC and Jonathan Sandiford of St. Paul’s Chambers prosecuted a schoolboy who, when aged 14, planned a major terrorist outrage in Australia. Together with an Australian jihadist, he plotted the beheading of police officers during an Anzac Day Parade in Melbourne. The plot was days away from being brought into effect when the authorities in the UK and Australia intervened. Mr. Justice Saunders passed a sentence of detention for life on the defendant, who cannot be identified.
