Amanda Rippon appointed Circuit Judge

New Park Court Chambers is delighted to announce the appointment to the Circuit Bench of Amanda Rippon. H H Judge Rippon has spent the past 13 years in Newcastle and is widely respected by the profession and the Judiciary. Fortunately the Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Newcastle Upon Tyne Crown Court with effect from 14 March 2016.

Her Honour Judge Rippon is well known as a personable and highly effective lawyer with a reputation for fairness and conspicuous ability as a Recorder on the Circuit. We will miss her support and expertise as head of the Newcastle branch of chambers and we all wish her well in her deserved appointment as one of Her Majesty’s Judges.

HHJ Judge Rippon is the eighth appointment to the bench from these Chambers in the past 5 years and the fourth in the last year following the appointments of HHJ Julian Smith (South East Circuit), HHJ Simon Phillips QC (North Eastern) and HHJ Adkin (Northern).

HHJ Moreland, HHJ Hatton QC, The Recorder of Middlesbrough HHJ, Simon Bourne-Arton QC and HHJ Bayliss QC were all appointed to the North Eastern Circuit in 2012.
