Jason Pitter QC leading Dapinder Singh secured an acquittal of murder in joint enterprise attack in one of the first cases following the Supreme Court decision in Jogee. The case attracted significant national publicity as it involved a horrific and brutal unprovoked attack on an elderly gentleman. The case arose out of the recent tensions in Rotherham. The Defendant’s DNA had been present on the teeth of the deceased. The Defendant was convicted of manslaughter. The co-accused was convicted of murder.
