Today, the Grenfell Tower Inquiry moved to the evidential stages of Phase 1 and began with an opening statement by Lead Counsel to the Inquiry. This follows 7 days of deeply moving commemorations of those who died in the fire.
Phase 1 of the Inquiry, which will focus on the events of the night of 14th June 2017. It is anticipated that this will last until November 2018. It is anticipated that Paul and Nick, between them, will attend every day of Phase 1 on behalf of tRIIO, which is an unincorporated association which was engaged in gas works at Grenfell Tower in June 2017.
The start date of Phase 2, which will involve a detailed examination of why the fire occurred through a review of what went wrong and how existing safeguards were insufficient, has not yet been announced. It is expected that Phase 2 will occupy most, if not all, of 2019. Again Paul and Nick will be attendance thorough Phase 2.
