Sharon Beattie and Felicity Hemlin prosecute former Newcastle United youth coaching assistant charged with historic sexual offences

George Ormond was charged with historic sex offences against young footballers both at local club level and in relation to young players at Newcastle United as well as participants on a Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. After a six week trial, George Ormond was convicted of 36 offences against 18 complainants. He was sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court to a total term of 20 years imprisonment.
