Jeremy Barton secures acquittal at Bradford Crown Court

20/09/2018

Jeremy Barton instructed by Carr and Co Solicitors achieved an acquittal defending a man accused of causing really serious harm contrary to section 18 of the offences against the persons act. The defendant accepted inflicting a puncture wound but denied that the injury was caused by a weapon. The trial issue was self defence and whether the keys caused the injury. Despite the jury hearing strong supporting evidence from a prosecution expert on the issue of the keys and causation, the witness was discredited by Jeremy and the defendant was unanimously acquitted.
