James Gelsthorpe receives Assistant Chief Constable’s Commendation

James Gelsthorpe was awarded a Commendation by the Assistant Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police on 12 November 2018 following his work on Operation Orleans, a nationwide investigation into a criminal group concerned with the theft, cloning and onward sale of motor vehicles both in the UK and Ireland. James was instructed as junior counsel at an early stage in the prosecution which resulted in the convictions of four men, and acted throughout the confiscation proceedings in which the combined benefit of the conspiracy was found to be in excess of £1.5m.

James was led in the trial by Sharon Beattie.
