Paul Greaney QC has been named Regional ‘Silk of the Year’ at the Legal 500 Awards 2019. The award covers all areas of law for all silks based outside of London and is the result of considerable research conducted by the Legal 500 team over the last year.
During 2018, Paul acted on behalf of the family of Sean Benton at the Deepcut Inquest, on behalf of a Core Participant at the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and is currently instructed to act as Counsel to the Manchester Bombing Inquests over which Sir John Saunders will preside.
He has also conducted a series of high-profile criminal cases, including the successful defences of Sir Norman Bettison and the former Lady Mayoress of Bradford, both of whom faced allegations of misconduct in public office in separate cases, and the prosecution of two schoolboys who plotted a Columbine-style attack on their school in North Yorkshire.
