Kieran Cleary was 15 when he espoused right-wing views, praised Adolf Hitler and attempted to manufacture a CO2 bomb. Following a trial in April and May 2019, he was convicted of manufacturing an explosive substance and various offences of possessing a document likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism. On 20th September 2019 he received an extended sentence of detention. Paul led Denise Breen-Lawton of St. Paul’s Chambers. They were instructed by the CPS Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division.
