Nicholas de la Poer to be appointed as Queen’s Counsel in March

New Park Court is pleased to announce the inclusion of Nicholas de la Poer in the list of new Queen’s Counsel. Nicholas will be appointed at the ceremony in Westminster Hall on 16th March 2020.

Nicholas is an experienced criminal and regulatory practitioner who has been instructed in many high profile cases both on and off circuit. His recent casework as led junior counsel includes representing Sir Norman Bettison, the former Chief Constable of Merseyside and West Yorkshire alleged to have committed offences of misconduct in public office arising from the Hillsborough Disaster. He is currently instructed in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and the Manchester Arena Inquiry. Nicholas is regularly recommended in the Legal Directories for his work for Crime, Financial Crime and Inquest and Inquiries.

Tim Coulson, Chief Executive of New Park Court commented ‘This is an outstanding personal achievement for Nick and thoroughly well deserved. In last year’s legal directories, Nicholas was described as ‘an exceptional junior’. ‘He will make an exceptional silk.’

Nick’s appointment brings the number of practising silks in Chambers to 10.
