Tom Storey joins New Park Court Chambers

10/03/2020

New Park Court is pleased to announce the tenancy of Tom Storey, former leader of the of Zenith Chambers’ Criminal Team.

Tom, called in 1993, is one of the most highly regarded junior barristers on the North Eastern Circuit. A vastly experienced, specialist practitioner, he both prosecutes and defends, often as leading junior in cases of substance. He is a member of the CPS general prosecution panel (level 4), serious organised crime panel and rape panel. He is one of only a few counsel nationally with Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.

Tom has considerable experience of dealing with cases involving organised criminality such as the wholesale supply of controlled drugs, the movement and use of firearms, and significant fraudulent activity. He is also frequently sought-after in cases involving serious sexual offences and those involving individuals suffering from serious mental health difficulties.

Tim Coulson, Chambers Director, welcomed his arrival, saying, “This is clearly great news for Chambers but more importantly excellent news for our clients who have now have access to another exceptional practitioner within our already market-leading group.”

Tom’s arrival follows the recruitment to Chambers in 2018/19 of a significant practitioner group from the former Zenith Chambers which includes Simon Kealey QC, Geraldine Kelly, Jessica Strange and Ashleigh Metcalfe. Joining Tom at New Park Court is Jemima Stephenson who has accepted the offer of a probationary tenancy for 2020.
