Dr Freeman, a former British Cycling and Team Sky doctor, was charged with 22 allegations of misconduct, including the ordering, in 2011, of a WADA banned substance, namely testogel; this with the intention that it should be administered to an athlete, in order to improve performance. Dr Freeman admitted 18 other misconduct charges, including allegations of dishonesty relating to the covering up his role in ordering the banned substance.
The MPTS Tribunal found the Testogel charge proved, going on to find the doctor’s fitness practice was currently impaired, and then erasing him from the Medical Register, with immediate effect.
