17/01/2022

On 14th January 2022, Sundas Alam was sentenced to a total of 3 1/2 years for sending malicious communications to her Member of Parliament, Naz Shah, and perverting the course of justice.

She pleaded guilty to these offences on 28th October 2021, the third day of her trial at York Crown Court.

She had sent threatening emails from “spoofed” email accounts belonging to three other people.  As a result, those three individuals were arrested from their home address by armed police and held in police custody, before it became clear that they were not responsible.”
