Adam Birkby achieves acquittal in death by dangerous driving trial

09/03/2023

Adam Birkby defended a man of good character charged with causing death by dangerous driving, before the Recorder of Preston.

The case was unusual because the Crown alleged that the defendant was racing the deceased following an earlier confrontation.

Through cross-examination of the Crown’s road traffic collision expert, Adam was able to establish that the physical evidence at the scene coupled with defects in the carriageway were consistent with the defendant’s account that the motorcyclist had lost control of his vehicle when travelling at high speed.

Adam was instructed by Yousuf Khan of Kamrans solicitors.
