Jessica Slaughter successfully prosecuted a teenager who fatally injured a soldier outside a nightclub. The soldier died in hospital almost a month after the attack, in Blyth, Northumberland.
The soldier was had served in Afghanistan and had been mentioned in dispatches for risking his own life to save fellow soldiers under heavy fire.
The Defendant was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment at a hearing on 3rd March at Newcastle Crown Court.
