Background

Race Equality Statement

New Park Court Chambers recognises the unique role it can play, as bastions of justice, in challenging racism.

We embrace the Bar Standards Board’s anti-racist activism and commit to ensuring that our workplace, people and environment rejects racism and promotes race equality.

In doing so we commit to:

  • Establishing a Race Equality Group within Chambers that champions race equality and holds Chambers to account for its associated culture and behaviours.
  • Implementing race equality positive action measures. These include, for example, our supporting the Black Interns initiative by hosting, mentoring and coaching black aspiring barristers – who are significantly underrepresented in the sector.
  • Ensuring that the entirety of the Chambers family undertake comprehensive race equality training.
  • Continuing to drive regional change through active membership in the North East Circuit Diversity Outreach Network.

This statement will be reviewed annually by the CEO.
