At New Park Court Chambers, we do things a little differently. With 70 junior barristers and 16 King’s Counsel, our reach and influence stretches far beyond the bounds of our Circuit.
As a Tier 1 Set based in Leeds and Newcastle we are home to a number of high profile and nationally and internationally reputable Counsel.
Amy joined chambers as a third six pupil in February 2026 under the supervision of Valerie Sterling following successful completion of a full 12 months’ pupillage elsewhere.
She is currently gaining valuable experience in all areas of chambers’ family practice including public and private children law, financial remedy applications and protective injunctions.
Amy was educated at Durham University (Hatfield College) where she read Law and obtained an Upper Second Class LLB (Hons). She went on to study for a Master of Laws Degree and Bar Practice Course at the University of Law achieving grades of Distinction and Very Competent respectively.
During her studies Amy undertook pro bono work including volunteering at the Citizens Advice Bureau and the University Law Clinic. She also worked with Street Law supporting young people with mental health issues to understand the laws that affected them and access support.
After being called to the Bar in 2022, Amy gained further experience working for a large police force within their ‘legal disclosure department’ before going on to work as a paralegal in a large city centre law firm. She has extensive experience of care proceedings, private law children disputes, domestic violence prevention orders and protective injunctions.
In her spare time Amy enjoys theatre, music and travelling.
