At New Park Court Chambers, we do things a little differently. With a total of 74 barristers, including 13 King’s Counsel, our reach and influence stretches far beyond the bounds of our Circuit.
As a Tier 1 Set based in Leeds and Newcastle we are home to a number of high profile and nationally and internationally reputable Counsel.
Antonia Adie commenced pupillage in November 2023, under the supervision of Lee Fish and is in her second six. Antonia takes instructions across our key practice areas of Crime, Family and Civil, and Regulatory. She has recently worked on criminal cases, including motoring offences, s.47 ABH, theft and has recently secured a prosecution in a case involving the possession of a flare at a sporting event. In respect of family and civil, Antonia has represented clients for non-molestation orders and Road Traffic Accidents. Antonia has a natural confidence that helps her relate to clients of all types, puts them at ease, and makes them feel comfortable in court.
Throughout her first six, Antonia worked on a variety of cases, including serious sexual offences, false imprisonment, robbery and GBH. Antonia has completed work on various EncroChat drug conspiracies involving analysing complex attribution data. Under supervision, she prepared cases for trial by drafting opening speeches, examination in chief and cross-examination, and closing speeches, drafted conference notes and defence case statements.
During her pupillage, Antonia has had the opportunity to observe experienced counsel in numerous criminal trials and cases, both prosecuting and defending. She has attended hearings in the Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court, and Court of Appeal and observed cases on behalf of the General Medical Council, prosecutions on behalf of the Environment Agency, and Local Authority Council matters.
Antonia has successfully undertaken advocacy training.
Antonia completed her Masters in Law and Bar Course at Northumbria University and achieved First Class Honours. She was awarded The Honour Roll Award sponsored by Womble Bond Dickinson for the academic years 2019/20, 2021/22 and 2022/2023, recognising outstanding academic achievement. Prior to obtaining pupillage, Antonia worked in the retail sector and has gained key transferrable skills of communication and problem-solving.
