At New Park Court Chambers, we do things a little differently. With 70 junior barristers and 16 King’s Counsel, our reach and influence stretches far beyond the bounds of our Circuit.
As a Tier 1 Set based in Leeds and Newcastle we are home to a number of high profile and nationally and internationally reputable Counsel.
Oliver Kilvington is currently undertaking his second six and accepts instructions across Chambers’ key practice areas. Oliver commenced his pupillage in September 2025 under the supervision of Adam Birkby. He has gained a grounding in all areas of criminal work, including serious violence, sexual and drugs offences.
Before joining New Park Court, Oliver gained experience working at a law firm specialising in criminal defence, business crime and regulatory law.
Having studied at Durham University, Oliver achieved a First-Class degree in Law, consistently ranking highly in his cohort. He achieved a High Distinction on the Bar Practice Course, with an overall average of 85%.
Oliver sits as a chairperson on the Football Association’s National Serious Case Panel, where he adjudicates on disciplinary matters, including assaults and aggravated misconduct. His role involves asking questions of witnesses and the participant charged before deciding whether the case is found proven, and if it is, reaching an appropriate sanction. During the misconduct hearings, Oliver regularly questions youth witnesses and is experienced in adapting his approach to prioritise the welfare of vulnerable and young people.
Oliver has undertaken youth advocacy and general advocacy training and previously volunteered with Support Through Court, assisting litigants in person through the court process in family and civil cases.
In November 2025, Oliver was awarded a Senior Scholarship from Gray’s Inn, their most prestigious scholarship, awarded to pupils who demonstrate exceptional written and oral ability.
