At New Park Court Chambers, we do things a little differently. With 70 junior barristers and 16 King’s Counsel, our reach and influence stretches far beyond the bounds of our Circuit.
As a Tier 1 Set based in Leeds and Newcastle we are home to a number of high profile and nationally and internationally reputable Counsel.
New Park Court is a leading set nationally for Inquests & Inquiries work, having appeared in the most high-profile and significant cases over recent years.
Members of Chambers have been involved in the following major Public Inquiries: the Manchester Arena Inquiry, the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse and most recently, the UK COVID-19 Inquiry and the Independent Inquiry Relating to Afghanistan.
Members of our team have acted in prominent Inquest matters, such as the Hillsborough Inquests, the Deepcut Inquest and an Inquest into a death on a ‘Smart’ Motorway. They also represent various medical and care organisations, corporations, governmental bodies and individual interested parties at Inquest hearings. These have involved inquests into deaths in custody and state detention, traffic accidents and corporate manslaughter.
The team consists of King’s Counsel and Junior Counsel, some of whom are appointed by the Attorney General as Junior Counsel to the Crown and specialise in providing representation to government departments, such as the Ministry of Justice.
