Claire joined chambers in October 2013 upon the successful completion of her pupillage. She practices solely in Criminal Law. She is a junior practitioner who has a varying criminal practice. She has also acted as independent counsel in HMRC investigations as well as a disclosure junior and been led in a number of high profile cases. She has an established Crown Court practice with experience in cases involving dishonesty and drugs offences, sexual offending and violent offences including GBH and murder.
In crime, Claire regularly appears in the Youth, Magistrates’ and the Crown Court for both the defence and prosecution. She is a CPS Level 2 Prosecutor. She has represented the interests of a variety of agencies, including the Crown Prosecution Service, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills , the Department for Work and Pensions and the Environment Agency.
Claire has appeared at the First Tier tribunal in a variety of appeals. She is also registered to represent the interests of the Secretary of State for the Home Department at Immigration Appeals.
Claire has experience of dealing with matters relating to Mental Health Law and has appeared before the Mental Health Tribunal.
