New Park Court Chambers is a large and well-established set, comprising 50+ barristers in Leeds and Newcastle, including a number of QCs. Some of our barristers also sit in a part-time capacity as Recorders or Tribunal Chairmen.
New Park Court Chambers in Leeds and Newcastle employs 17 members of staff, including clerks and support staff. With the increase in specialisation, New Park Court Chambers have developed to respond to the needs of clients both in strength and depth.
We are proud of our strong reputation for conducting substantial cases. Major criminal, regulatory, civil and family cases together with complex medical negligence and health and safety prosecutions are all undertaken as part of the daily work of our barristers, in addition to inquests, judicial review and cases involving human rights issues. Numerous cases are conducted in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court and members of the specialist teams have appeared in the European Court.
Originally established in 1966 by Peter Stanley-Price QC at 30 Park Square with Francis Laking as Senior Clerk, as an annexe to 5 King’s Bench Walk.
Chambers became fully independent on Circuit in 1976. Chambers moved to more substantial premises at 1 & 2 Park Square in 1972, to Park Cross Street in 1986 and ultimately relocated to 16 Park Place in 1999.
