A message from our Chief Executive
Welcome to New Park Court Chambers. We are a large and well-established Band 1 set based in Leeds and Newcastle. We are 88 people strong, across the whole team, which includes 13 highly skilled King’s Counsel.
We are also the home of the current North Eastern Circuit Leader, Jason Pitter KC, and a former Chair of the Bar Council, Alistair MacDonald KC. Many of our barristers also sit in a part-time capacity as Recorders, Panel Members or Tribunal Chairs.
We are proud of our strong reputation for conducting significant and substantial cases. Major criminal, regulatory, civil and family cases together with complex medical negligence and health and safety prosecutions are all undertaken as part of the daily work of our barristers, in addition to inquests, judicial review and cases involving human rights issues.
Numerous cases are conducted in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court and members of the specialist teams have appeared in the European Court.
But we are so much more than the excellent work of our barristers, clerks and wider staff team. Our Carbon Negative partnership with Make It Wild made us the first carbon negative Chambers in the UK and we are one of a small number of organisations to have been awarded Bar Council Wellbeing Certification. We are also active in the community through our support of the 10,000 Black Interns programme as well as a range of Circuit outreach initiatives.
