Paul Greaney QC prosecutes the murderer of schoolteacher Ann Maguire

Paul Greaney QC today concluded the case of William Cornick, the schoolboy who murdered his Spanish teacher, Mrs Ann Maguire at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds on the 28th April 2014. The defendant was sentenced to detention at Her Majesty’s pleasure (effectively a life sentence) with an order that he serve 20 years in custody before become eligible to apply for parole. Mr Justice Coulson made plain that he may never be released.
