Paul Greaney KC appointed Counsel to the Omagh Bombing Inquiry

The independent public inquiry into whether the bombing in Omagh on 15th August 1998 could reasonably have been prevented by UK state authorities was established on 21st February 2024.

The inquiry is chaired by Lord Turnbull, who has appointed Paul Greaney KC as Counsel to the Inquiry.

Paul has a strong history in public inquiries and inquests, having been Counsel to the Manchester Arena Inquiry, having acted for Core Participants in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, the Independent inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse and the Independent Inquiry into Afghanistan and having advised corporate bodies in the COVID Inquiry and Horizon Inquiry and having had a prominent role in the Hillsborough and Deepcut Inquests. He also continues to maintain a prominent national profile in serious crime and regulatory law.
