Jason Pitter QC and Adam Birkby secure acquittal in alleged gangland shooting

24/05/2018

Jason Pitter QC and Adam Birkby represented the alleged hitman who had faced allegations of conspiracy to murder and attempted murder following the shooting of the partner of the head of what was said to be a rival drugs gang. The victim had been shot in the face with a shotgun at point blank range as she looked out of her house window. This was said to be part of a “cross border” dispute as between organised crime groups in the West Yorkshire and Lancashire areas. The defendant was said to have travelled in the early hours of the 2nd December 2017 to the home address of the victim as part of a carefully orchestrated plan. His movements and activities had been detailed in telephonic evidence and CCTV footage.
