Julian Smith appointed Circuit Judge

New Park Court Chambers is delighted to announce the appointment to the Circuit Bench of Julian Smith.

H H Judge Julian Smith has spent his whole career in chambers at Newcastle and is widely respected by the profession and the Judiciary. Regrettably he will not be sitting on the North Eastern Circuit: The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit and he will be based at Maidstone Combined Court Centre, where he has had strong family connections for the whole of his life.

H H Judge Smith is well known as a personable and charming lawyer with a reputation for fairness and conspicuous ability as a Recorder on the Circuit.

We will miss his support and expertise as head of the Newcastle branch of chambers and we all wish him well in his deserved appointment as one of Her Majesty’s Judges.
